Introduction

The emerald state of Kerala is known for its natural bounty. The state very much complements the name “God’s own country”, as it is showered by the God’s choicest blessings! Here you can witness the living closest to nature. Being so very close to nature, there are many age old practices still followed here. Yoga and Ayurveda to name a few. Yoga, as it is known today, is not just the science of physical fitness, it also is the science which heals you from within and enhances the spiritual connection. Yoga has been found in India from the pre-vedic period and finds a mention in most of the Vedas, important in the Hindu philosophy. The science of Yoga is being practiced by Hindus, Jains and Buddhist followers alike. There is no gender or age bias in following yoga. Recently Yoga acquired UNESCO’s Intangiable cultural Heritage status. Ayurved, on the other hand is the science of life.
